Citrus grandis (Linn.) Osbeck. (Syn.: C. maxima) (MADHUKARKATI)

Madhukarkati was not mentioned by brhat trayi.  Among nighantus sodhala nighantu did not quote this plant not even with the synonyms.  All other nighantus described it as a variety of bijapura.  It appears to be a edible fruit added at later times to the Indian materia medica.  Madhukarkati is known as pamparapanasa kaya in Andhra Pradesh.
