Suksmapatra is used as the synonym for coraka. Like tilaparni in the previous context, this is another nighantu in the saka varga duet to its utility as a leafy vegetable. P.V. Sharmaji considered A. glauca as Canda delineated in the Samhita granthas. Caraka quoted coraka under Sanjnasthapana group while Vagbhata mentioned it under Eladigana. Sushruta delineated it only once with the name Taskara. Another species of Angelica i.e., A. archangelica Linn is considered as canda.
Botanical Name – It is a herb growing upto 4m. height and its flowers are purple in colour. It grows at 800-10000 ft. in the Himalayas.
Major Chemical Constituents– Isoimperatorin, prangolarin, angeolide, angelicolide, archangelin, oxypeucedanin.
