Phaseolous trilobus (MudgaParni)

Caraka quoted it as life-promoting (JIvanIya) herb. Sushruta & Vagbhata mentioned ݵurpaparÄi Dvaya as Mudgaparni and Mashaparni. Thakur Balvant Singh reported that at present it is not being collected for market and in its place Phaseolus other species are being used.

Botancial Description – It is a procumbent shrub possessing yellow flowers. It is commonly found in India.

Major Chemical Constituents– Seeds- Vitexin, Kaempferol, lutcolin, quercetin

Part Used– Whole plant

Dosage– Decoction 50-100 ml; powder 3-6 g
