Grewia asiatica (Parusaka)

It is extensively quoted by the ‘Brihat Trayi’ in the phala varga and is known as best tonic. It is mentioned as one of the ingredients among Madhura Triphalµa.

Botanical Description – It is a small tree ighantuy of yellow flowers and small edible fruits.

Major Chemical Constituents– There is essential oil in the seeds. Bark – α amyrin, lupeol. Flower- Glycosides like pelargonidin, delphinidin, cyanidin.

Part Used– Fruit, leaf, root

Dosage– Fruit juice 10-20 ml.
